To close this off: I'm worried about the future of the awards in general. Unless the rules are as airtight as possible to prevent such an issue, we can't have nice things.

I really don't want to make this post, but as of right now, I have officially cut ties with the user Recorped, who has for the past 2 years bugged my Discord DMs with stupid shit. It turns out that he has a history of sending people gore, slurs such as the N and F words, spamming, etc, whenever they're doing something disgusting themselves (ie. being a pedo or an asshole).

When talking about some of the worse ones, he claims to have changed and it was all in the past, only to fall back to old habits and do something equally shitty. I have warned him several times that this type of behaviour is wrong and that he shouldn't be doing it to anyone, regardless of their own wrongdoings, yet he still does them, or otherwise does something else that's edgy or offensive.

Most recently, on January 22nd, he sent gore to a pedo that he says was grooming his friend. As much as the latter part is disgusting, so was his actions (to a lesser extent), Prior to this incident, I had tried to help him stop doing it, but afterwards, I realized he was a lost cause, so now I'm publicly calling him out on it.

Literally 1 day prior to the incident, I had him promise to "not fuck around with gore and shit, etc. to attack perpetrators", which did not stick.

For context, he was planning to troll and send "shooting videos and gore" to "Lovenola", a random girl making death threats in a server he was in.

And now, some moments leading up to this point

He knows this type of behavior is something that'll get him cancelled down the line.

Case in point: Sep 29th 2023, he says that he's "not the lowest level who things gore is good shit", and that he's "somewhat of a good/normal person". By that logic, Adolf Hitler was a good man because he's polite in front of his German officers.

July 25th 2023. He explicitly states "people who post gore often turn out to be assholes". How ironic!

For context, he's been joining various femboy servers, many of them do or have done disgusting things (such as requesting thigh pics from minors, he himself fell victim to this).

These are the types of people he hangs with or used to hang with.

As of today, he's been banned from both the Power Star Reanimated collab (I'm part of the admin team, we discussed this extensively), as well as the OneyPlays Sonic Shorts collab (courtesy of @BastardfromBrooklyn).

To end this post: please do not invite him to your own collab. Don't join any of his collabs especially the Johnny Rocketfingers collab. Not after you've seen this.

TL;DR (since he used headers to make the text bigger, which is hard to take seriously):

* He now admits, 2 days after this post, and 10 days after the incident, that sending gore to those two was a bad idea. In the 10 days since and up until recently, he was sperging out against me on Discord and later demanding my post be removed.

* He admits that it's wrong to use slurs, even though he is black + bisexual.

* He mentions doing ERP a year ago, which he since knows is dangerous for minors. I did not plan to cover this.

* I made BLM jokes (which were NOT in my PMs.)

None of this is "debunked", he's just giving more proof that he's irresponsible and tends to make or plan stupid decisions online, only to regret them later. It's pretty much a repeating cycle with no sign of ending.

He also did not mention anything related to Goatse or Tom Pearl, both of which he's also used on various Discord servers or groomers around mid 2023 as well. Can't be arsed to dig up the screenshots RN, but I assume he regrets those too.

This is the Anonymous Frog coming to you live from the 11th layer of Hell. I wanted this big ol' mega-analysis post / news announcement to coincide with the 22nd anniversary, but shit has gotten so out of hand, I can't leave this thing waiting. Thankfully it's the 10th in Australia, so that counts. Right? Anyway.

In case you're not under a rock, Neurotically Yours 'Bits' is a new series by Jonathan Ian Mathers, (aka @illwillpress).

It is part of the Neurotically Yours series that started in late 2002-early-2003. Comics were produced as early as September 10th 2001, which is why today is the 22nd anniversary.

These "Bits" episodes, which started coming to Newgrounds in early August, have been winning significant Daily Awards (ie. 1st and 2nd) at a rate faster than what previously came before. So far, 6 episodes have been released over the span of a month, and five have won awards.

To summarize, regular episodes of NY lasted up to a minute, sometimes longer if it's a rant, sometimes shorter. They featured limited animation and a single background / everyone on one shot. New episodes are made every 2 weeks.

Sometimes the background is a traced bitmap of a stock photo (ie. a crude bitmap to vector feature of Adobe Flash),

Pretty much the bare minimum for an animated series, some people still hate it, otherwise not too shabby.

Then there's the "Bits" series. On the other hand, the "Bits" features 7-15 seconds of animation, with an extra 15 seconds of animation-less outro tacked on. It uses an A.I generated background, visuals are even more simplified, new episodes are made every 1 week.

Ultimately, they are pumped out twice as fast, while applying way less than half of the work, or in other words, everything we, as critics of Newgrounds have suspected as being the worst part Neurotically Yours series, have been made even worse, which is why, after winning a high award like Daily 1st or 2nd, they quickly drop down to 3.5 or less. Last time I checked, "Car" dropped down to 2.61 and below. I've LITERALLY had SPAM movies ranked higher than this, and I don't have thousands of followers voting 5 on everything, so that's saying something!

EDIT: I later caught it at 1.99, but as of December 11th, it currently stands at 1.68/5. Movies are blammed at that stage, Jesus Christ that ain't good J.i.M!

I left two reviews on Apple and A.I. Selfie. I may have left more, but they're probably deleted by now. These reviews pretty much cover EVERYTHING I want to say about the entire series. Nothing more, nothing less.

I want to make this clear. Any form of actual harassment or abuse is not tolerated on Newgrounds! Even if you think it deserves your negative feedback, I am not here to enable your assholeishness. I'm just here to keep fans, critics, haters, and outsiders alike informed, so all I ask in return is to keep things civil. You got me!? Keep it clean!

If you want to keep posting 0 star reviews, you will need to be able to write a proper review and provide useful feedback, otherwise your review will be flagged as abusive and deleted by mods. Simply voting 0 on its own (without a review) is all you need to make a difference.

I know there are some people who have hated Foamy since the very beginning, because the cartoons followed a very barebones structure and a new episode was pumped out every 2 weeks non-stop, affirming your beliefs that the show is shit and the creator and that the creator's only going to make it shittier, but if you keep yelling like idiots, nobody's going to take you seriously! You should probably try to make some cartoons of your own. You might be able to beat Foamy one day. Given the above scores, it shouldn't be that hard.

Some people like a few of the older episodes, but dislike the Rants and Fanmail episodes and other older shit, because of their repetitive nature. I fall into this category, having first seen Foamy in late 2020 because of the magic inflating boobs episode, then over time I started watching old anti-Foamy movies like Zekey's -MASS-, RengadeClock's Foam Shopping Network, rtil's - The Nail -, and those are just the good ones, then all of a sudden, I'm now part of the new generation of Foamy critics because Foamy actually got worse this year.

Though I still somewhat tolerate a handful of modern non-Bits (ie. around 2021-2022, before the Bits).

Some people may have once been huge fans of Foamy, buying at least one piece of official merch, be it the Hot Topic shirts, the DVDs, etc, but have either outgrown him over time, or don't find the newer shit funny anymore, ie. the Simpsons / Family Guy decay, except it now applies to 1-2 minute long webisodes. And I don't blame you, it's effectively a soap opera at this rate. One day, you'll come back to see how far your Lord and Master has fallen, and I don't want to be the bearer of bad news any more than the other guy.

And some of you may have become fans BECAUSE of the newer stuff, like the Bits, or have continued to support him since the golden years, I unfortunately have some bad news. Your demographic, other people like you, is not as big as it used to be (as evident by the ~20-40K viewers on newer episodes on YouTube, compared to 500K-1M of older episodes), and old J.i.M is struggling to both keep you interested and entice new viewers to watch his ever-shrinking cartoons, which in turn causes you the audience to start dwindling in numbers.

There may be a point in time where the combined revenues of Patreon, Twitch, YT ad revenue, merch, music, etc. will not be able to support him full-time. Any additional money you keep paying him through these avenues is only going to be delaying the inevitable. Maybe it's in a few years, maybe it's 10 years from now, who knows? But it ain't getting bigger. Not unless there's a drastic change that actually works this time, which I really wish would be true.

And for those who have never heard of Foamy/illwillpress before seeing this post and/or the Bits entering the Daily Picks. I don't know if you exist, but just note that there are people here that care about the content that gets uploaded here to Newgrounds, and I hope you care too, or at least be able to respect the efforts of other creators that aren't as high.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a Madness Day cartoon coming up in 2 weeks, so I won't be dicking around any longer until after it's finished.

Also, J.i.Mmy boy, @illwillpress, if you're reading this, and I heavily doubt you will, if you're not going to stop posting these "bits" to Newgrounds, the least you can do is opt out of awards so that nobody gets mad anymore

UPDATE (October 14th). It's been over a month and there's no new Foamy episodes here, leaving Car as his magnum opus. I think I killed him, which calls for a celebration!

Yesterday, I made a post because there was a ton a drama surrounding the Cassette Girl drama. After a day, it went downhill real fast, really bad, so I deleted the post.

Long story short, the creator (Don) raped (or ‘salted crepe’ as I tried to call it in a less offensive manner) a girl and used her as main inspiration for CG, who was until now a very popular character. so now a lot of people don’t feel comfortable using her in anything.

My point was this: People shouldn’t leave zerobombs because of factors outside of the art itself and if they want to complain, they should follow the rules. A lot of new reviews found on Don’s pieces didn’t review the piece, they mostly just insulted him, and thus broke the rules (specifically the ‘personal attack’ one).

Since then, I myself have been getting hate from a bunch of people for that post, the very thing I wanted to avoid.

Their two main points were:

1- I don’t actually care about the situation and I was just trolling/being edgy for attention

Since I’m not a part of the FNF community and didn’t care much about CG before the incident. I am in no position to comment any more than this. However, I do care when people are not trying to be civil about these controversies in general, not just regarding Don + CG. I just don’t think such a discussion belongs in the review space of individual submissions.

2- I am defending a rapist

I will point this out. I DO NOT CONDONE RAPE OR ANY OTHER CRIMES.

Don admitted to the crime. As much as I’d like to point out “innocent until proven guilty”, he’s already been proven guilty.

We all know what he did was horribly wrong. I’m deeply sorry if it were misinterpreted as such.

One of the biggest mistakes I made, aside from the post itself, was replying so damn much to everyone who opposed the post. The ones who used slurs against me and told me to delete my account and kill myself. I should’ve just ignored them instead of making a fool out of myself trying to debunk all that crap, even if it seemed easy to me.

Again, I deleted the post. I deeply regret making it and responding further than I did.

From now on, I will be more cautious about serious topics like this and will be avoiding talking about these things whenever possible.

I need 2 weeks off.

Due to @The-Great-One having to deal with all sorts of personal issues, there hasn't been a new issue of @TheTankTribune in months, but thankfully it's coming back this Monday (around Feb 21st), or at least this is what he messaged me recently.

I'm finally doing something good for a change. Despite only having 30 followers and despite the aforementioned lack of Tank Tribune issues, I've made the decision to in its absence, continued to create new Triweekly issues.

NG: Zero Hour

This is an run 'n' gun game originally announced in 2015, but was cancelled when the original programmer left, but since been resurrected years later

There's finally a release date, ie. Pico Day 2022! It's possible that it'll get delayed again, but I'm still hyped for it.

I first heard of NG Zero Hour on this date 1 year ago, when @ThatJohnnyGuy was asking for new pixel artists. I was one of those people, and I contributed a handful of sprites, those mostly coming from enemies / bosses.

TL;DR: This game was stuck in development hell for 7 years.
